In a world growing increasingly aware of environmental challenges, one woman is fostering a generation of young minds who look to nature not only with awe but with an understanding of its deep intelligence and potential to shape our future.
Nandini Gosine-Mayrhoo, founder of nandī, is on a mission to reimagine education around nature and
inspire children to become the nature leaders of
tomorrow—scientists, architects, teachers, lawyers, and artists who will carry forward solutions rooted in the wisdom of the natural world.
Nandini Gosine-Mayrhoo: Cultivating a Generation of Nature Leaders
Affidian Magazine is honored to spotlight Nandini Gosine-Mayrhoo, the visionary founder of nandī, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to inspiring future leaders through an education rooted in nature’s intelligence. With a corporate background in Wholesale Banking, Nandini has reimagined her career path to focus on an innovative, nature-centered curriculum designed to cultivate the next generation of eco-conscious scientists, artists, architects, and changemakers.
From Banking to Biomimicry
Nandini Gosine-Mayrhoo’s journey spans continents and careers, beginning in her birthplace on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. After moving to England with her husband, she later settled in the United States, where her passion for nature and youth education truly began to flourish. Her path from corporate banking to educational reform may seem unconventional, but it’s united by a common goal: transformational impact. An Associate of the Chartered Banker Institute and a holder of a Master’s Degree in Metaphysics from the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Nandini’s early career was steeped in the high-stakes world of finance.
However, her love for nature and her drive to foster ecological responsibility in youth led to an unexpected yet profoundly meaningful career shift.
Today, she’s a sought-after ghostwriter and the creator of innovative educational tools that help children grasp the wonder, awe, and intelligence of the natural world.
Nandini’s first children’s book, Nandi & The Music of the Plants, brings an extraordinary piece of technology to young readers. The Music of the Plants device transforms the electrical impulses between a plant’s roots and leaves into beautiful, melodic music, giving voice to a world most of us overlook. “When I heard the plants ‘sing’ for the first time, I knew I had to share it,” Nandini recalls. This book has since gained acclaim, being recognized by the Mom’s Choice Awards and the Parents’ Picks Award for Best Educational Product for Elementary Kids in 2024.
Education that Transforms
Nandi & The Music of the Plants serves as an introduction to nature’s complexities, but it is only the beginning of Nandini’s educational mission. The next phase includes a series of online lessons aimed at children aged 7-9, designed to teach concepts like plant intelligence, communication, and sensory perception in a way that is both fun and meaningful.
For the 10-15 age group, Nandini is developing a deeper curriculum that incorporates biomimicry, bioengineering, and biotechnology, encouraging students to see plants as designers and problem-solvers who offer invaluable insights for human innovation.
“I envision children growing up to become nature leaders,” Nandini explains. “These are the future scientists, architects, lawyers, and activists who will approach challenges through a lens of sustainability and empathy for the environment.” Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, children are not only learning scientific principles but also exploring new ways to interact with and appreciate the natural world.
A Growing Influence in Education and Beyond
The world is taking note of Nandini’s unique approach to learning. She was invited to speak at the Growing Futures: Vegetal Encounters in Contemporary Children’s and Young Adult Ecofiction conference at the University of Cologne and the Re-imagining Education Conference.
Most recently, she served as the presenter for The Transform Masterclass Series hosted by Dr. Karina Felix, where she shared her insights on the intersection of eco-literature and education.
In addition to her speaking engagements, Nandini co-hosted The Meta Lifestyle Magazine TV Show. She has been featured in Affidian Magazine’s “Visionaries in the Spotlight” and is a contributing writer for the publication.
Her online lessons, available on her website, continue to attract parents and educators who are eager to bring a fresh, nature-centric approach to learning.
A Call to Collaborate
As a homeschooling advocate and educator, Nandini is actively seeking partnerships with parents, teachers, and organizations who share her commitment to nature-based learning. “It’s not just about teaching children scientific facts; it’s about fostering a relationship with nature,” she says. “When children understand that nature is intelligent and intentional, they are more likely to make choices that benefit the planet.”
For parents and educators looking to integrate Nandini’s lessons into their curriculum, her platform, nandī, offers resources and materials that align with core educational standards while adding an experiential dimension to traditional STEM and arts education.
Through these initiatives, Nandini hopes to create a future where respect for nature is an inherent part of the educational experience.
Affidian Magazine applauds Nandini’s vision and dedication. In re-imagining children’s education through the lens of nature, she is not only teaching today’s youth but empowering tomorrow’s leaders.
